• Calcium-D-Glucarate is broken down in the stomach to form D-glucaric acid, and
• further broken down in the intestines to D-glucaro-1,4-lactone.
  
• D-glucaro-1,4-lactone inhibits beta-glucuronidase, which is produced by intestinal microflora.
  
• D-glucaric acid is found in fruit including apples, grapefruits, oranges and cruciferous vegetables.
  
• D-glucaric acid is involved in conjugation processes of the liver.
  
• Doses used in research range from 1500-3000mg daily.
